PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Honeysuckle Solar Project, now operational in St. Joseph County, Indiana, is a major renewable energy project developed by Lightsource bp and installed by Inovateus Solar. This 188-megawatt facility produces enough clean energy to power the equivalent of 27,000 homes and offsets approximately 204,000 metric tons of carbon emissions annually. The project, completed in early 2024, integrates U.S.-sourced materials and features over 897 acres of pollinator-friendly landscaping, enhancing local biodiversity through a collaboration with the Bee and Butterfly Habitat Fund. Additionally, it supports the local economy with over $30 million in projected tax revenue over 30 years and provided around 200 jobs during its construction phase. Additionally, Honeysuckle Solar achieved an 88% recycling rate, totaling over 1,525 tons of potential waste being recycled with local companies!
