Elk Street

Buffalo, New York

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In October 2025, the 3.59 MW Elk Street Solar Project achieved commercial operation in Buffalo, New York. Developed by CleanCapital and constructed by Inovateus Solar, the project transformed an 11-acre former ExxonMobil tank farm into a productive renewable energy asset. Located on a capped and lined brownfield site near the Buffalo River, the project demonstrates how underutilized land can be repurposed to support local communities and advance clean energy goals. The solar facility is expected to generate more than 4,100 MWh of renewable electricity annually while providing affordable solar energy to local residents through National Grid’s Expanded Solar for All program. As part of CleanCapital’s West Elk Fork portfolio, the project helps strengthen grid reliability, expand access to community solar, and support the continued revitalization of downtown Buffalo.
