In advance of Earth Day, Tyler Kanczuzewski, vice president of sustainability at Inovateus Solar in South Bend, Ind., has been named a Hoosier Resilience Hero by Indiana University’s Environmental Resilience Institute (ERI).
An advocate for sustainability, conservation and renewable energy, Kanczuzewski leads public outreach and education efforts at the company. Through speaking and writing, Kanczuzewski promotes sustainable best-practices, such as pollinator-friendly solar installations and zero-waste construction, to industry stakeholders in Indiana and elsewhere. Kanczuzewski also serves as sustainability manager for Logistick, Inc., a South Bend-based shipping and freight securement company. He is a board member, advisory member, ambassador or volunteer for numerous organizations dedicated to the environment or sustainability, such as International Society of Sustainability Professionals, Friends of St. Joseph County Parks Foundation, PVpallet, The Bakery Group, Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, Mamoni 100, Alliance for the Great Lakes and Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association.
Hoosier Resilience Heroes are individuals and groups committed to ensuring a safe, healthy environment for their families, their neighbors and future generations. This year’s cohort includes professionals and volunteers dedicated to food justice, climate policy, renewable energy, and sustainable business practices.
“Charting Indiana’s course toward a more resilient and sustainable way of life requires leaders in every community and every corner of the Hoosier state,” said ERI Managing Director Sarah Mincey. “These leaders are making an important difference in their community and throughout the state by sharing their knowledge, inspiring others, and advocating for more sustainable and equitable solutions to environmental change.”
