March 29, at 10:00 a.m., South Bend Marriott Hotel

Join us for the PV Power UP Solar Summit Round Table
Pose Challenging Questions on Policy, Regulations and the Future of Renewable Energy

Media professionals are cordially invited to the 2011 PV Power UP Solar Summit round table that begins at 10:00 a.m. on March 29, 2011 at the South Bend Marriott Hotel in the second level Ballroom. The round table is the first event of the three-day PV Power UP Solar Summit (March 29 to 31)

Media should arrive at 9:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, to set up for the round table discussion. A mult-box will be provided for broadcast media audio hookup.

  • Inform your audience about the most current political issues in renewable energy and groundbreaking solar issues in a round table discussion moderated by Inovateus Solar’s Tim Polega.
  • Interview national and international experts in the solar power industry.
  • Get solar industry facts from 11 solar technology firms—all with manufacturing facilities in the United States.
  • Interview attending students and faculty from area colleges for a perspective on the future of solar power industry.
  • All journalists are welcome to attend the three-day event for free—a $300 value.

“We’ve expanded our annual Inovateus PV Power UP event to three days. We have 11 solar technology manufacturers presenting over the three days. It’s of note that all of these companies have manufacturing facilities right here in the U.S. with a few in states adjacent to Indiana. We are offering free admission to area college students, faculty and the media. We hope this year’s event will be a great comprehensive, educational forum showcasing the solar power industry. We still have seats available,” welcomes T.J. Kanczuzewski, executive vice president of Inovateus Solar.

PV Power UP Solar Summit Round Table Participants

Congressman Joe Donnelly

Joe Donnelly (D) is the congressman from Indiana’s 2nd District. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in Government in 1977 and again from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1981. In the 111th Congress, he was an original cosponsor of H.R. 2227, The American Conservation and Clean Energy Independence Act, which would invest in alternative energy, provide tax incentives for clean energy production, and modernize the fuel mix in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

Nick Kovach

Nick Kovach is the director of sales and marketing for Roofing Products International, Inc. Since 1980, RPI has provided single ply roofing systems for residential and commercial projects with a focus on EPDM and TPO roofing – the perfect applications to combine with solar. RPI takes a one-on-one approach with their distributors, making sure they have the training they need, their price is competitive and that they have all of the tools they need to get the job done. Nick’s role is to respond to distributors and contractors with quick decisions and make sure they are comfortable putting the product down. Nick’s contribution to the round table is to provide first-hand knowledge and experience from the roofing products manufacturer and the installer’s perspectives.

Jennifer Alvarado

Jennifer has served as Executive Director for Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association for the past five years and has worked with GLREA for over seven years. Her tasks include managing programs, funding sources and staff. Jennifer’s goal with GLREA is to educate, advocate, promote, and publicly demonstrate renewable energy technologies.

Joseph Jancauskas

PV Power UP Keynote Speaker and Worldwide Power Technical Director for The Louis Berger Group states, “This is a great Midwestern educational opportunity and I am really looking forward to everything that this multi-day event offers in the way of technical content. From residential, to commercial, to utility, to military, and to developing countries, solar does have an important role to play. It takes a lot to change a skeptic to a convert, and if a show of hands was called for, I would have to raise my hand with the green energy converts.”

Rob Haddock

Rob is Director of the Metal Roof Advisory Group, Ltd., a consulting firm performing a variety of services for a worldwide clientele since 1989. Having 38 years industry experience, Haddock’s professional affiliations include NRCA, ASHRAE, ASCE, CSI, TMI and ASTM.
