My Inovateus solar poster is titled “Solar Catch,” and the fish snagging a solar panel says a whole lot about me.
For those not familiar with fish species, my poster shows a rainbow trout, or “steelhead” as it’s called in the Great Lakes waterways. I used to catch rainbow trout when I lived in Colorado, and now I get down to Michigan’s St. Joseph River to hook a few steelhead whenever I have the chance.
The prime fishing in this area is similar to Inovateus Solar for a couple of reasons. First, both Inovateus and steelheads are shining stars that you don’t expect to find here in our Michiana area. Second, both solar and steelheads (or rainbows) are usually found in the eastern or western U.S. or in more “ideal” locations. Yet here in the Midwest, we have some of the best fishing spots—and one of the best solar companies in the country.
The trout and the solar panel on my poster also remind me of how bountiful our earth can be, and why we must take care of the planet responsibly. Catching and serving fish to my family (or for an Inovateus Think Tank Breakfast) makes me proud to benefit from our natural world in much the same way that responsibly harnessing a renewable energy source like the sun does.
The fish also reminds me of family and friends, and how something so simple and natural can bring so much joy to our lives. My dad got me started fishing for crappie in Madison, Wisconsin, and now my son has begun to fall in love with fishing. My son’s weapon of choice is the Pixar Cars fishing pole that my dad gave him on the day he was born. So fishing is not only something that makes me very happy, but it’s also a family tradition.
The Inovateus motto “Building a Brilliant Tomorrow” and responsible fishing share a common goal of promoting renewable energy and protecting our planet’s future, our natural land, waterways and wildlife. I love working for a company that strives to improve the world we all live in, today, tomorrow and beyond.
