Growing Environmental Partnerships with Solar

Inovateus Solar is very excited to announce two new partnerships and memberships with both the Monarch Joint Venture (MJV), and Arbor Day Foundation, starting 2025 on a high note. Both relationships were established interdependently at the end of 2024.

The Monarch Joint Venture is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and a national partner network of federal and state agencies, non-governmental organizations, businesses, and academic programs working together to conserve the monarch butterfly migration. The Inovateus partnership and membership with MJV is to support their initiatives in growing sustainable monarch butterfly habitat at solar farms, including the potential to help with monitoring, data and research.

Inovateus has been partnering with The Bee and Butterfly Habitat Fund on seed grants, growing biodiversity and solar pollinator habitat installations across the country for years. The partnership with MJV will add to that momentum of growing environmental awareness of pollinator habitat, and the variety of eco-benefits it has when combined with solar farms. Think agrivoltaics! By joining the MJV network, Inovateus can also connect with other solar companies and conservation organizations, tap into shared educational resources, and promote the value of integrating pollinator plantings with solar installations.

The Arbor Day Foundation is a global nonprofit pursuing a better future by inspiring people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees. For more than 50 years, they’ve built a growing community of more than 1 million leaders, innovators, planters, and supporters. Together with their network, they’ve planted more than half a billion trees, with the bold belief that a more hopeful world is possible through the power of trees.

By partnering with and joining the Arbor Day network, Inovateus will strategically plant more trees in and around solar farms, emphasizing on the buffer zones and parameter areas. And not just any tree, they will be native to the U.S., and more biodiverse species that will have greater environmental impacts in the long run. Additionally, for every tree removed from a construction site, Inovateus plans to offset removals with new plantings elsewhere, in coordination with Arbor Day. The Arbor Day Foundation believes in the power of trees, and the power of people around the world to plant them. Trees transform communities and shape the future, helping to clean the air and water, support healthy ecosystems, and impact everyone’s mental wellbeing.

Inovateus Solar is excited to evolve this year, and double down on sustainable solar development. Inovateus brings a deep understanding of the solar industry and the potential to create new habitat opportunities through upcoming solar projects. More solar can mean more habitat, if done correctly. And more solar companies can commit and collaborate with the right partners, and local communities, to make these visions a reality.
