Why the Fourth of July is the perfect holiday to celebrate America’s solar revolution

Nothing is more American than the Fourth of July. The national holiday celebrating our revolutionary past and declaration of independence from the English brings us together in a pyrotechnic-fueled burst of patriotic fervor.

Here at Inovateus, July 4th also reminds us that we are involved in a modern revolution—the solar revolution—proudly helping to accelerate the transition from fossil fuels to solar and other clean energy. We’re solar patriots who support energy independence, climate hawks who battle against climate change, and freedom fighters who believe in the people’s right to tap our homegrown renewables.

Our American solar revolution is real and growing. Today, there are more than 1 million solar installations and 218,000 solar industry jobs (and counting) in the U.S. By July 4, 2018, analysts expect our country to benefit from another 1 million installations. The revolution will grow stronger as energy storage becomes more reliable and affordable for homeowners, businesses and utilities.

Clearly, solar is no longer a boutique industry of starry-eyed dreamers. We’re a multi-billion-dollar, multi-gigawatt phenomenon that is changing the way energy is being generated and used—at a lower cost and without pollution. Hundreds of solar companies across the country—including Inovateus—exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit of America at its best.

This holiday weekend, when you get together with family and friends, fire up the barbecue, spread out the picnic blanket, consume mass quantities of comestibles, get sunburned, and kick back and watch some amazing fireworks, remember: nothing is more American, more patriotic, more mom and apple pie than solar power.

From everyone on the Inovateus team, we wish you a happy Fourth!
