Last week we launched our stewardship team (codenamed “Project Green Rock”) and had our first ever meeting, focusing on stewardship and sustainable practices. The stewardship team has the passion to help lead the charge in promoting sustainability in our own operations, amongst our partners and the renewable energy industry. Everyone on the team has been hand selected due to their passion for sustainability, making a positive impact on the planet, and our company. We also have selected a person from each department so that they can lead their team on being more sustainable. The stewardship teams ultimate goal is to become carbon neutral as an organization. We want to reduce our waste, our energy use, and make a net positive impact on Earth.
Now The Looming Question is This; How Will This Affect Our Company, Partners, and The Solar Industry
We believe this will promote only positive change for all of the above. As our sustainability mission continues and evolves, we want to partner with companies that also have a sustainability mission. We want the “sustainability-bug” to spread all over the industry to the point all companies have some type of mission or initiative fighting the threat of climate change, inspiring economic sustainability, and vitality for all people.
New Green Logo For The Sustainability Department
We are also excited to announce that now, at Inovateus Solar, we will not only be displaying the traditional bright orange logo, but also an all new green logo! This logo will be displayed to represent our stewardship and sustainable practices. We want this to serve as a constant reminder that no matter what we do every day, we think about how that decision or action will impact Earth.
Green Initiatives Our Company is Adopting
We have many initiatives that we are excited to tackle and accomplish in our effort to make an everlasting positive impact on the earth. The most recent initiatives are getting Energy Star and LEED Building certified. Both of these certifications will help us benchmark metrics that are used in calculating our carbon footprint. Once we compile these metrics, we can then measure our efforts in becoming carbon neutral as an organization. We are also implementing zero-waste initiatives at our job sites, and going more digital to prevent having to print so much paper.
This last Friday, at St. Patrick’s County Park, we had our annual company picnic which was our first “minimal waste event,” and it was successful! We are aiming to have a ZERO waste event at our next company outing. Each event we have we will strive for zero waste, even when we have catered in lunches at our office.
The future is bright here at Inovateus Solar, and it shines even brighter with the help and passion of the stewardship team. For as long as Inovateus Solar is around, so will be the Stewardship team. We promise to do our part to promote a more sustainable world that will last as long as nature allows!
