My Inovateus solar poster was inspired by “da Bears.” Not the big furry ones, but the ones who inhabit Soldier Field.
I grew up an avid Chicago sports fan, and with all love and due respect to the Cubbies, I’ve been a huge Chicago Bears ever since I was a young cub. Like solar power, the Bears were long lasting, they were tough, and they generated a lot of energy, especially for die-hard fans like me.
When I heard how the ‘85 Bears won Super Bowl XX under the one and only Mike Ditka, that only increased my passion for the team, which became an important part of my social life and an inspiration for healthy fitness. Every year my friends (also Bears fans) put on our fake Ditka mustaches and sunglasses and run in the Ditka Dash, an annual 5K run at Soldier Field.
My solar poster is a play on the classic 1990s Saturday Night Live skit featuring Bill Swerski’s Super Fans and a popular cartoon picture of Mike Ditka that has the famous “da Bears” quote, adapted to “da solar.” If you haven’t seen that skit, check out the accompanying video.
Sometimes my work at Inovateus can also feel like an exciting game that I love to play almost as much as I love the Bears. As part of the accounts receivable team, I enjoy tackling numbers, receiving payments, and coaching our sales team to score a win for the iTeam.
The inspiration I find in my poster helps me to get through the challenging moments, combining teamwork and fun. Whether or not you’re a Chicago Bears fan, I hope you’ll be inspired and always be a die-hard solar fan.
